AlisonPlayer

iPhone · iPad · Mac

Your media. Offline subtitles. Across Apple devices.

AlisonPlayer is a local media player for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with on-device subtitle generation and translation. This page provides product information and support while the app prepares for its App Store launch.

Play local media

Open a video or audio file using the file picker, or browse media in a folder you have granted access to. The player supports playback controls, saved progress, and original or bilingual subtitles.

Some formats, including MKV and AVI, need compatibility conversion. The app prepares an initial playable section and continues preparing later sections in the background. Startup time depends on the codecs, file location, and device performance; not every file is guaranteed to play.

Generate subtitles on your device

In the player, open the subtitle menu and choose Generate Offline Subtitles. Select the spoken language, or use automatic detection, then choose a translation language or original subtitles only.

Recognition uses supported Apple speech resources or installed local models, including Whisper and Chinese recognition models. Apple Translation provides supported language pairs. Download the necessary resources first; recognition and translation then run on the device. Quiet speech, music, overlapping voices, and language changes can affect accuracy.

Free allowance and Pro

The free edition includes a cumulative 60-minute allowance for processing media to generate subtitles on the current device. It is not 60 minutes for each video. Successful regeneration uses the allowance again. Cancelled or failed generation is not charged, and translation in the same generation job does not charge the duration twice.

Weekly, monthly, and yearly subscriptions, and a one-time lifetime purchase, unlock Pro subtitle generation without this free duration limit. All three subscriptions unlock the same Pro functions while active. Prices and currencies are shown in the app from Apple's store; the App Store purchase sheet confirms the amount. Ordinary playback and viewing existing subtitles do not consume the generation allowance.

Purchases and restoration

Purchases are handled by Apple. In AlisonPlayer, open Settings → AlisonPlayer Pro to choose a plan or Restore Purchases. Use the Apple Account associated with the purchase. A cancelled subscription remains usable until its paid period expires; a lifetime purchase has no automatic renewal.

Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account's subscription settings. Refund requests are handled through Apple's purchase support. Contact us if a confirmed purchase does not activate Pro, including the plan name and app version; never send your password or payment card details.

Playback or subtitle problems

If a saved file no longer opens, choose it again to renew access; cloud-backed files may need to finish downloading. For subtitles, check the active track, display mode, subtitle timing offset, spoken language, and installed models.

If speech is missing, note the exact time range and the recognition engine used. You can copy the subtitle diagnostic report from the app, review it for private recognized text, and send only the relevant details to support.

Device requirements

AlisonPlayer targets iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 or later. Available speech and translation languages, model performance, and playback compatibility depend on the system and device. Media files are not distributed with the app, and this website does not provide films or other copyrighted downloads.
